Abstract
The first section (0) is designed for thickness reductions of 10-40 mm. The segment (1) has at least 3 bending points producing a radius of curvature of 3-6 m. The straightening roll section has at least 3 reversed bending points, with the last of these points (at a casting speed forming 80 % of the maximum) located at least 2 m away from the point of complete solidification of the slab. Slab thickeness reduction takes place by a vertical section (0) of casting rolls located directly below the mold (K). The slab is bent by a section (1) over a several bending points. Before complete solidification, the slab is straightened over several reversed bending points. The segment (0) is designed for thickness reductions of 10-40 mm.
