Abstract
The metallurgical vessel (1), in particular, for steelworks is provided with a refractory lining and a tapping hole which is located at the lowest bottom region and is offset in two directions from the centre of symmetry of the vessel. The bottom region has a straight surface sloping into the tapping hole. The contour of the bottom region (8) is formed by two or more intersecting basic geometrical shapes; the height (15) characterizing the degree of inclination of the sloping straight surface (13) is equal to the diameter (16) of the outlet opening (7). Also claimed is a method for producing the proposed metallurgical vessel.
