Verfahren zur Verbleiung von Eisen- und Kupferblechen. WILLIAM THORN in MONTPELLIER.
Process for the leading of iron and copper sheets.
Patentirt im Deutschen Reiche vom 13. October 1878 ab.Patented in the German Empire on October 13, 1878.
Citronensäure, Oxalsäure, Stearinsäure, Chlorkalk, Alaun, Jod, Brom etc., wendet man
In the production of very many chemical products, e.g. B. sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, tartaric acid,
Citric acid, oxalic acid, stearic acid, chlorinated lime, alum, iodine, bromine etc. are used
various apparatuses made of lead. As a result of the softness and low
The strength of lead has little resistance; it is also impossible
made of lead apparatus for pressure, such as Montejus, vacuum, distillation apparatus, permanent
to be able to manufacture.
The present invention aims to obviate these difficulties and all
Apparatus such as evaporation pans, crystallization vessels, acid reservoirs, Montejus, Vacuums,
Distillers etc., generally apparatus for acidic liquids and gases through apparatus
made of leaded iron and copper sheets to replace which are far more durable than
the common ones are made of lead and can be used for any voltage.
The leading of the metals for the above purpose is carried out in the following way:
nur auf einer Seite der Metallblech^.The metals to be lead are used to produce a clean, oxide-free surface
pickled by any acid (for iron it is best to use dilute hydrochloric acid,
in which some zinc is dissolved, on) and tinned in the known way. The tinning is done
only on one side of the sheet metal ^.
The well-tinned, cleaned and completely dry sheets, with a metal edge
or surrounded by sand, are made in a perfectly horizontal position by some kind of furnace
heated; The best way to do this is to use a controllable gas furnace or gas. The heating
happens until the thin layer of tin that covers the metal has melted,
thereupon, depending on the thickness of the lead that one wants to apply, the after
The amount of liquid lead, as far as possible freed from oxide, is poured on to the size of the metal sheets.
The lead flows over the metal and through it, together with the thin layer of tin, forms a lead-tin alloy
enters, it coats the sheet with an evenly dense layer. It is the main requirement that the metal sheets extend to the beginning
Melting the tin layer can be heated to approximately 2 20 "to 230". Small irregularities,
which arise during casting are made by hammering out the leaded sheet metal, which gives the lead an even greater tightness
than that of rolled lead, and by rolling by means of an ordinary sheet-rolling apparatus
balanced, which at the same time reduces the lead to a minimum
can.
Leaded metal sheets produced in this way can be processed in any way
(i.e. bending, riveting, hammering, etc.) without separating the lead from the other
Metal takes place and show up because of the complete purity and tightness of the lead
extremely permanent for the stated purpose. Depending on the construction of the apparatus
the metal sheets are provided with an overlapping lead edge.
Apparatus which have to withstand a very high pressure and for which the necessary
strong iron or copper sheets without damage to the strength of the metal
let bend, can be finished in the manner described by inserting a mold
Apparatus and pouring out of the space are leaded.
