Gummi (Kautschuk), welcher mit pulverisirtem Schwefel mechanisch gemischt worden, vulcanisirt, wenn man ihn eine gewisse Zeit lang einer höheren Temperatur (120 bis i8o° C.) aussetzt. Der Kessel A ist mit einem Wasserstandszeiger C und mit einem Wasserfülltrichter D versehen. Der Dampf, welcher in dem Kessel A entwickelt wird, tritt durch das Rohr E in den zweiten Kessel B, wo er überhitzt wird. Eine höhere Spannung kann sich in diesem Kessel nicht entwickeln, weil der Kegel des Sicherheitsventils F durchbohrt ist und der verbrauchte Dampf hier in die freie Luft entweichen kann. Die Belastung des Sicherheitsventils ist so bemessen, dafs der Dampf eine höhere Spannung, als circa eine Atmosphäre nicht erreichen kann.
