Abstract

The code pins (2), added to the plug (1) in positions which do not correspond to pins of the mating socket (not shown) are distinguished by support sleeves (3) pushed over the ends within the plug housing (6). Each sleeve is of predominantly cylindrical cross-section modified by two pairs of diametrically opposed indentations (4, 5) near opposite ends where the cross-section becomes elliptical. The pairs are indented at different angles and narrowed to less than the diagonal dimension of the square shank of the pin which is thus gripped by both.
