Abstract

What is indicated is a lock cylinder which has a cylinder housing (2), a lock-cylinder core (6) mounted in the cylinder housing (2) and an electromagnetic blocking device (15, 15a, 15b) securing the cylinder core (6) in its locked position against unauthorised rotation. The blocking device (15, 15a, 15b) comprises a blocking bolt (18, 18b) displaceable perpendicularly to the axis of the cylinder core (6), engaging into a recess (20, 20b) of the cylinder core (6) for securing the cylinder core (6) and moveable out of the cylinder-core recess (20, 20b) for releasing the cylinder core (6), an electromagnetic coil (23, 23b) and an armature (24, 24a, 24b) which is mounted in the cylinder housing (2) displaceably between a blocking position and a release position and is moveable by means of the coil (23, 23b) and which, in its blocking position, blocks the blocking bolt (18, 18b) and, in its release position, releases the blocking bolt (18, 18b). In one embodiment, during the rotation of the cylinder core (6) out of the locked position, the released blocking bolt (18, 18b) is shifted out of the cylinder-core recess by the cylinder core (6). In another embodiment of the invention, the blocking bolt (18) for securing the cylinder core (6) is shifted by the armature (24) when the latter is moved into the blocking position. The lock cylinder can be produced simply and cheaply and requires only a small number of parts. <IMAGE>
