Abstract

Process for the impregnation of wood with oily impregnating agents, in which the wood is introduced into an impregnation tank, by first subjecting it to a possibly elevated first air pressure and, after filling the impregnation tank with impregnating agent preheated to a temperature above 100 DEG C, maintaining the first air pressure, then impregnating the wood by single or repeated pressure increase to an impregnating pressure exceeding the first pressure, by than after draining the impregnating agent, sucking excess impregnating agent out of the wood by producing an underpressure in the impregnation tank, by preheating the wood prior to the elevation of the pressure in the impregnation tank, right through to a minimum temperature between approximately 40 DEG C and approximately 150 DEG C, preferably between 60 DEG C and 80 DEG C, at which minimum temperature the impregnating agent is a homogeneous liquid mixture having a viscosity between approximately 0.9 and approximately 2.0 DEG E, preferably between 1.1 and 1.4 DEG E.
