Abstract
A switching device for interrupting a circuit, three-terminal modules (13) being able to form the highly different devices which electrically have one or more terminals, if required with the addition of a neutral conductor path. At least one contact point (2) is arranged in the three-terminal module (13) in a main current path (1). A branch (7) having a current-limiting device (8; 18) leads to a separate connection (9) from the main current path (1). The switching device forms two connection sides, for an input circuit (14) and for an output circuit (15), which, when the switch contacts of the contact point (2) are opened, in each case form a current path between two electrical terminals in each case on each of the connection sides. In consequence, decoupling of the input circuit (14) from the output circuit (15) is achieved when the switching device triggers, with separate energy conversion. <IMAGE>
