Abstract

A display device for a fuel dispenser is described which has a simultaneous display of an amount of fuel dispensed, an amount to be paid, and a base price per unit amount of the type of fuel dispensed. The counter displays consist of three multi-digit, transflective liquid crystal displays (LCD) (2, 3, 4) having light sources (6) arranged there behind. The three liquid crystal displays (2, 3, 4) are installed in three rows one below another on a printed circuit board (1) which, depending on the arrangement and size of the LCDs, has planar recesses (21, 22, 23) for the passage of light generated in the background by a central light source (6). An inhomogeneous diffusion plate (9) is arranged between the light source (6) and the LC displays (2, 3, 4) in such a way that background light of uniform intensity impinges on all the LC displays (2, 3, 4). <IMAGE>
