Abstract

The device is mounted on the top of a chimney (1). It consists of two parts, of which one part (3, 2) is arranged at least approximately above the other part (4, 5, 6), which can be connected to the chimney (1). A lifting mechanism (41) produces a relative movement between the two parts and at the same time results in one part being held by the other. A cabin (12, 13) held by the upper part (3) is anchored laterally on the wall of the walling (1) to be demolished at a predetermined distance L from the upper margin of the wall so that, from the cabin (12, 13), a piece of walling of length X smaller than L from the top end of the wall downwards can be demolished.
