Infolge der gleichmäßigeren Verteilung der Drücke auf beide Lager kann aber auch die getriebene Welle erheblich kürzer als gebräuchlich gewählt werden, wodurch sich die Raumersparnis noch erhöht. Die außen befindlichen Lager sind naturgemäß auch besser zugänglich und in ihren Abmessungen unbeschränkter als die zwischen Antriebswelle und getriebenem Kegelrad eingebauten Lager.
