Description
Process for the production of records from two cellulose ester foils The invention relates to a method for producing records from two cellulose ester films and one that completely separates the films from one another Interlayer made of paper or other printable material by combining by means of Pressure and heat without binding agents while simultaneously pressing in the sound grooves.
The records made in this way were previously with the The problem was that they threw themselves out soon or that the shifts did not last firmly connected. The invention overcomes these inconveniences.
The method according to the invention is characterized in that the panels produced by the union of the three layers after being in at have cooled down in a known manner in the press, warmed up again slightly and in removed from the press in a heated state.
As a result of this heating, the plates no longer adhere to the dies, so that they can be easily removed and there is no tension in the layers or between the layers, and this is believed to be the reason why the plates do not later warp. The process for producing such a record consists in first heating a hydraulic press to approximately 120 ° C. At approximately this temperature, a disk made of celluloid or similar material, e.g. B. made of cellulose acetate or other cellulose esters, placed on each die of the press, and then any printed sheet of paper or similar material is placed on one of the dies, or all three layers, i.e. the two cellulose derivative layers and the paper intermediate layer, are placed on. a die. The press is then closed while maintaining the temperature for 30 to 40 seconds under a pressure of about rao kg / qcm. The press is then cooled to about -r ° C for 20 to 5 seconds, causing complete adhesion between the celluloid or similar material disks and the sheet of paper in between.
In order to be able to separate the plate produced in this way from the matrices, the press will now operate for 6 to 10 seconds with the hydraulic pressure unchanged heated again, whereupon the pressure is removed and the heating is interrupted. It appears, that the plate no longer adheres to the dies and can be removed without damage.
First and foremost, the temperature of the press must not drop below 16 ° C, as it has been shown -that the discs are made of celluloid or similar material a temperature below 16 ° C have a tendency to get stuck on the stamps, so that if they were separated the sheet of paper would split into two layers, of each of which gets stuck on one of the celluloid discs or similar material, thereby destroying the plate.
Obviously you don't need an adhesive with this procedure establish the adhesion between the panes and the intermediate layer.
The center hole in the sheet of paper is preferably given a smaller one Diameter than the holes in the disks, and in some cases it is also convenient to give the paper sheet a larger outer diameter. Under no circumstances should the diameter but be smaller than that of the panes between which the sheet is placed. Of the Any protruding paper edge is then removed either after or during the pressing.
Since the disks made of celluloid or similar material of the type mentioned above do not touch each other in any way, one obtains perfect attachment between Discs and paper. The sheet of paper can be printed on one or both sides to give the finished plate a pleasing appearance. Of course you can but also announcements, photographs, drawings, etc. affixed to the sheet be.
