Formaldehyd
mit zunehmendem Formaldehydgehalt immer schwerer löslich werden.Process for the preparation of resin solutions It is known that by
Condensation of aromatic amines with formaldehyde in the presence of approximately equivalent
Amounts of acid and subsequent removal of the acid according to the amount used
zi.ldehyds fusible and soluble or infusible, in most solvents
insoluble resins can be obtained. In particular, it is made for formaldehyde
and aniline resins are known to be those made with about 1 mole of formaldehyde
Resins good solubility in the usual resin or resin. Have paint solvents and
are not curable per se, while the curable resins with more than one mole of formaldehyde
become more and more difficult to dissolve with increasing formaldehyde content.
Harze mit höchsteng i Mol.
In the German patent 561 157 and in the French patent 719 574 it is indicated that both the fusible, non-hardening resins with a maximum of i mol Properties can be largely changed and improved.
It has now been found that this reaction can also be used to produce
of extremely heat-resistant coatings of great mechanical and chemical resistance
can be used if you use the aminaldehyde resins for yourself or after you have them about
according to the method of French patent 68q.3,18 by melting together
with resin-forming substances in soluble and meltable form, if necessary
in a mixture with other resin-forming substances, curable aldehyde condensation products, plasticizers
dissolves in solvents or other additives commonly used in the paint industry,
which are capable of adding the additional aldehyde or the aldehyde-releasing substances as well
to record. These solutions can be prepared in the usual way by brushing on, spraying,
Brushing on, dipping, pouring on, etc. applied to all kinds of substrates and the
coatings obtained after drying are expediently cured by heating.
It is irrelevant for the essence of the invention whether one of the reaction products
the amine-formaldehyde resins with the aldehydes and aldehyde release: the substances run out,
how they z. B. in German patent 561 157 and in French patents
719 636 and 719 574 are described, and these in inert solvents
dissolves, optionally with the addition of further aldehydes and the like, or whether the aldehyde
or the aldehyde donors
Substances before the amine-formaldehyde resin
or after the dissolution in a common solvent is added or whether finally
an excess of aldehyde is used as the solvent. To make more durable
Solutions are particularly suitable for slowly reacting aldehydes and slowly or only slowly
Substances that release their aldehyde at higher temperatures. By adding retarding
Agents such as furfuramide, triethanolamine and the like can reduce the shelf life of the solutions
can be increased even further.
Beispiel i ioo Teile eines
i Teil Furfuramid versetzt.
But you can also use the aldehyde or the aldehyde-releasing substances
only shortly before use to the "indefinitely stable solutions of the amine-formaldehyde resins"
add in inert solvents, with the addition of accelerators
particularly rapidly hardening coatings can be obtained. Example i ioo parts of a
fusible resin produced by the condensation of equivalent amounts of aniline,
Hydrochloric acid and formaldehyde and subsequent removal of the acid by the process
of German patent 561 157 was obtained as an intermediate product are in @ i 5o
Parts of cyclohexanone dissolved hot and after cooling with 4o parts of furfural and
i part of furfuramide offset. The dark red solution can, for example, with acetone
be diluted. The spreads are carefully dried at 100 ° and some
Time exposed to a temperature of 160 °. Dark red to black appear
coatings with excellent properties.
Anilin, i Mol.
Example e 100 parts of the fusible resin according to Example i
dissolved in 150 parts of furfural with the addition of 1 part of triethanolamine and with acetone
diluted. Example 3 100 parts of an infusible resin which, by condensation
of 1 mol. of aniline, 1 mol. of hydrochloric acid and 1.2 mol. of formaldehyde and subsequent removal
the acid was obtained with 250 parts of chlorohydrin and 250 parts of cyclohexanone
dissolved and diluted with toluene. 20 parts of p-cresol dimethylol are then dissolved at a moderate temperature
in the mixture. The spreads harden at 16o ° to very heat-resistant yellow-brown
to orange-colored coatings.

Beispiel 6 Man löst 93 Teile Phenol

Wärmebehandlung unlöslich und unschmelzbar werden.i oo parts of amine-formaldehyde resin obtained by treating i oo parts
Anhydroformaldehydaniline with hydrochloric acid until solution and subsequent elimination
the acid were prepared, are dissolved in 15o parts Cyelohexanon and with ioo
Part diluted acetone. Before use, 3o parts of crotonaldehyde and 2o parts
a fast-curing phenol-formaldehyde resin added. Leave the spreads
harden to insoluble and infusible coatings at 150 °. Example ioo
Parts of an infusible resin according to Example 13 are mixed with 150 parts of anhydroformaldehyde aniline
melted together until a clear resin melt is formed. This resin will
now dissolved in zoo parts of cyclohexanone and 50 parts of furfural. The coatings are
dark to shiny black after hardening. Example 6 93 parts of phenol are dissolved
in zoo parts of a 20 per cent sodium hydroxide solution, in the cold zoo parts 38 per cent
Add formaldehyde and let it stand for a few days. The solution contains a mixture of
Polyphenolic alcohols. On the other hand, 380 parts of aniline become more concentrated in 500 parts
Dissolved hydrochloric acid and 2500 parts of water and diluted with 300 parts of 38% formaldehyde
stirred for one hour at 50 °. Then the Potyphenol alcohol solution is left with thorough stirring
taper, which is absorbed without clouding, and then pour in as much diluted
Caustic soda that the resulting paste reacts slightly acidic. Then you put with
Soda alkaline, sucks, washes and dries. 100 parts of the powder thus obtained
are dissolved in 150 parts of cyclohexanone, diluted with 100 parts of acetone and 5 parts
Phthalic acid ester added. The yellow, very persistent solution provides spreads,
the yellow to orange colored coatings, which are shiny at 16o °, of excellent
Harden properties. Example ? 100 parts of a meltable amine formaldehyde resin
according to Example i, together with 2o parts of a mixture of polyphenol alcohols
Dissolved in 150 parts of cyclohexanol, one of the usual plasticizers added
and diluted until it is easy to spread. This excellent durable solution
a solution of 1 part salicylic acid in 2o parts furfurol is used before use
added. The spreads harden very quickly at 150 to 160 degrees to give glossy coatings
of very high resistance to heat and chemical influences.
example
8 100 parts of one obtained by condensation of one mole of aniline chlorohydrate and one mole of formaldehyde
and subsequent removal of the acid obtained resin are with 50 parts of anhydroformaldehyde aniline
melted together and together with 2o parts of butyl phthalate in 3oo parts
Dissolved methylcyclohexanone. A solution of 10 parts of formaldehyde is then added
So share butyl alcohol by shaking out a 40% with excess
Potassium carbonate added formaldehyde solution with butyl alcohol is easily obtained.
Durable solutions are obtained which dry to give glossy coatings, which through
Heat treatment to become insoluble and infusible.
