Bei federlosen Sicherheitsschlössern, z. B. nach dem Patent No. 1585, wird der Riegel und die Zuhaltungsplatte nicht mit dem Stechschlüssel , sondern mittelst einer Nufs bezw. eines Handgriffes verschoben. Im geöffneten Schlofs mufs der Schlüssel stecken bleiben; er wird wegen der gehobenen Zuhaltungsplatte vom Sicherheitsapparat festgehalten. Dies hat sich im praktischen Leben als nachtheilig erwiesen. Damit man den Schlüssel bei geöffnetem Schlofs herausziehen kann, mufs nach dem Riegeleinziehen die Zuhaltung wieder hinabgelassen werden, und zwar so., dafs dabei der Riegel nicht verschoben wird. Der Zahn- oder Hebelarm an der Nufs, der bei der Nufsdrehung die Zuhaltungsplatte gehoben und den Riegel verschoben hat, mufs sich in derselben Drehrichtung, in der er sich befindet, weiter drehen, um die Zuhaltungsplatte noch einmal zu erfassen und hinabzuschieben.
