Die Erfindung bezieht sich auf eine Nagelschutzvorrichtung für Fahrzeuge mit Luftbereifung, die dazu dienen soll, durch das Vorderrad hochgeschleuderte scharfe Teile von dem Hinterrade abzuhalten oder derartige Teile aus der Bahn eines Rades hinauszuwerfen. Es gibt bereits Nagelschutzvorrichtungen mit einem nachgiebigen schräg zur Fahrtrichtung vor das zu schützende Rad angebrachten Streifen. Diese Streifen haben aber den Nachteil, daß sie bei hoher Fahrgeschwindigkeit des Fahrzeuges durch den Luftzug so abgebogen werden, daß sie ihren Zweck nicht mehr erfüllen. Ferner sind bereits Nagel schutzvorrichtungen bekannt, bei denen ein quer zur Fahrtrichtung angebrachter nachgiebiger Streifen an im Wagen angeordnete Bandfedern befestigt ist. Diese Bandfedern sind aber im wesentlichen ledig-Hch nach zwei Seiten nachgiebig. Die Einrichtung gemäß der Erfindung zeichnet sich durch hohe Wirksamkeit und größere Haltbarkeit aus. Die Versteifung gemäß der Erfindung kann aus einer oder mehreren aus Draht aufgewickelten Stahlfedern bestehen. An Stelle der Stahlfedern kann auch ein anderes nachgiebigeres Mittel, beispielsweise Gummi in Stabform, verwendet werden. Wesentlich ist hierbei nur die allseitige Nachgiebigkeit des betreffenden Mittels. Gemäß der weiteren Erfindung ist der nachgiebige Streifen und die Versteifung an einem in eine am Wagen ausgebildete Nut einsetzbaren Träger befestigt. Ein weiteres Merkmal der Erfindung besteht darin, daß der Streifen in Richtung auf den Boden etwas nach vorn geneigt ist.
