Description

Process for the preparation of aqueous dispersions of sulphurized oils It is known that substances of various types can be dissolved in water or aqueous solutions can disperse by mixing the substance to be suspended with a suitable hydrophilic substance (peptizer or protective colloid called) intimately mixed and then processed the mixture with water. This procedure does not present any difficulties when liquids or hard solids are to be dispersed.

The method for dispersing raw rubber in water is known from P r a t t .. This consists in masticating the raw rubber, until it is plastic, then, optionally with the addition of a dispersant a rolling mill treated with water until it has absorbed a sufficient amount of this and finally the mass gained in this way while avoiding pressure as much as possible (e.g. in a dough mixer) dispersed in water. The manufacture of aqueous Dispersions of sulfurized oils, such as. B. Factis to which the present Invention relates and which is important for the rubber industry since it was only with the help of such dispersions is possible, which is always the case in the rubber industry growing use of latex z. B. to add factual is still failed. To address the difficulty of dispersing sulfurized oils too bypassing, it has been suggested to use the not yet sulphurized oils in aqueous agents to disperse and then to vulcanize the dispersed t51. A practical one This procedure was unsuccessful. In the li. the specification is that sulfurized oils can also be dispersed by the Pratt process; meanwhile Experiments have shown that this is only possible to a very imperfect extent. It Rather, it has been found that one mode of operation is used to disperse factice must become. which is just the opposite of the Pratt process. While after this the dispersion can be carried out with the greatest possible avoidance of pressure must, because otherwise rubber particles that are already dispersed will close again as a result of the pressure larger-sized ones are kneaded together, the dispersion of factice is only feasible with the exertion of very high pressures. According to the invention are sulphurized 151e, e.g. B. factice, which can also have crumbly textures, with one Dispersant and water processed on a rolling mill until an emulsion of the desired fineness is created. You can first put the disperser on the rollers or rum part for yourself, d. H. without liquid, into which to be dispersed Mix in the mass and only then add the water or the rest of the dispersant in dissolved '- states, or the dispersant can also be completely dissolved in water raise.

Possible peptizers are: gelatine, casein, soaps, saponin, Alkalis, etc. Embodiment on a masticating mill, as used in the rubber industry are common, 4000 g of brown factice and zoo g curd soap are rolled together. the Rollers are at room temperature and work with friction. The treatment duration is # 20 minutes. After this time, while the rollers continue to run, slow down 100 g of water were added. Here, the formation of a thick paste soon occurs, which contains about a4 per cent of water and in which the factice in the form of minute particles (Diameter about up to 5, u) is included.
