Process for the preparation of art masses It has been found that the condensation products of Maleinsäurä and their derivatives and unsaturated alcohols, as z. B. obtained by the method of patent 479965 , have the property of giving polymers of compounds containing the group H_, C. = C <, permanent elasticity. Suitable polymers of this type are, for example, polyvinyl ethers and polyvinyl esters of inorganic, shear and organic acids, polymers of styrene, acrylic acid and their derivatives, divinyl alone or in admixture with one another polymerized with other polymerizable bodies. The mixing of the polymer with the maleic acid condensate can be carried out in such a way that the polymer is melted by heating to between 10 and 140 ° and the required amount of condensate is introduced with thorough stirring. If the polymer is very viscous and still viscous when heated, it is expedient to dissolve it beforehand in a suitable solvent, such as benzene, and then add the condensate. After the solvent has been distilled off, the mixture of the two components is also obtained here as a synthetic material that is either still solid or more or less soft, in any case very elastic, depending on the type and amount of the maleic acid condensate added. In some cases it can be useful to add plasticizers. The polymerization products can be mixed with the maleic acid-alcohol condensation products in any desired ratio.
die sich durch große Elastizität, Haftfestigkeit und Unempfindlichkeit gegen Feuchtigkeit;
Beispiele

erhaltenen Kondensates eingetragen. Nachdem die beiden Komponenten sich zu einer
homogenen, klaren Schmelze vermischt haben, läßt man erkalten. Man erhält einen

which are characterized by great elasticity, adhesive strength and insensitivity to moisture;
also distinguished by lightfastness and good electrical insulation properties. Examples

sehr gut als Untergrundierungsmittel bei Herstellung von Lackierungen.2. 100 parts by weight of one with relatively very little superoxide
obtained high-viscosity polyvinyl acetate are in a mixture of 150 parts by weight
Toluene and 450 parts by weight of ethanol dissolved and in, the solution 25 parts by weight
one obtainable by heating maleic anhydride with i, 3 = butylene glycol
Entered condensation product. The solvent is evaporated in vacuo.
After cooling, the product becomes a homogeneous, clear, transparent, glassy block
obtained, which softens again relatively easily when heated. He is suitable
very good as a primer in the production of paintwork.
Glas usw., gut eignet.3. 150 parts by weight of styrene are heated to 150 ° for a long time; until
the main amount is polymerized. The still soft mass becomes 50 parts by weight
