Description
Process for the production of shaped stones, in particular paving stones from slag It is a method of making paving stones, building blocks or the like known from garbage, after which the fine-grained, mixed with sand, small pieces of porcelain or other indifferent components Pressing garbage into briquette form and then heating it in an oven over a fire grate. In the process, the garbage melts; and covers the indifferent added to the fine-grain garbage Components entirely. The stones formed from this mass have the disadvantage that on the surface they only form the structure of the molten material and form a slag Show garbage so that after a short period of use the surface is so smooth that traffic is severely affected on a road paved with such stones.
Another known method is cast cinder blocks produced by making the molds with chunks of cold slag or other Stones leaving larger or smaller spaces between the individual Filled broken chunks and then completely poured out with liquid slag. By using. cold rock should cool the shaped stones as quickly as possible so that they can be removed from the forms as soon as possible and the forms can be used for new casts. With this method, the disadvantage occurs one that the liquid slag cools so quickly on the cold rock, that an intimate connection between melt and additional material is prevented. Much more the cooled melt flows viscously around the rock, so that cavities develop. The stones produced in this way can only withstand very little stress withstand pressure or impact without falling apart into many parts.
These disadvantages are avoided according to the invention in that stone pieces in a heated state with the molten slag in a mold brings together.
The process can be carried out by making the molds filled with heated lumps of rock or rock-like substances and then they pouring out liquid slag, or else that the melt flow and the heated Filling additives together in a mold.
The mixing ratio of melt flow and additive as well as the size the chunks or grains of the additives can be selected as required.
The shaped stones produced by the new process are extraordinary durable and have high pressure and impact resistance. Your surface is rough and always has a good grip even with heavy use. Therefore are suitable these Shaped stones, especially for paving streets.
