Als Steuerventil ist bei dieser Bremse ein sich aufsetzendes Ventil verwendet, dessen Schaft in einem Gleitlager gelagert ist. Dieses Ventil muß rasch zwischen seinen Endstellungen für Abschluß der Außenluft bzw. des Druckmittels hin und her schwingen können, damit das Arbeiten des Ventils nur als leichtes Vibrieren am Bremshebel bemerkbar ist und der Bremsdruck -ohne nennenswerte Schwankungen auf jeden beliebigen Wert eingestellt werden kann. Es müssen deshalb alle Widerstände, die der leichten Beweglichkeit des Ventils hinderlich sind, beseitigt werden. Derartige Scheiben sind zwar schon z. B. bei elektrischen Relais bekannt, um schwingende Kontakte zu lagern, und sie sind auch bei andersartigen Ventilen zur Steuerung gebräuchlich. Das Lager s wird zweckmäßig aus einem Stoff, der praktisch keiner Schmierung bedarf, oder aus einer elastischen Masse hergestellt.
