For the display of a ground fault, it has already been proposed to switch to the reactive component the earth-fault current responsive relay, which is excited by three current transformers in summation circuit is going to use. To avoid overcurrents and short circuits through such a device to capture, you have to build the protective circuit by installing a so-called support choke and several current as well wattmetric relay expanded. A much simpler arrangement in which, in addition to the Earth fault relay only a single additional relay is required, is obtained according to the invention by switching to a protective circuit in which the equipment to be protected is based on the difference in the and outflowing currents are provided with a suitable differential protection system A ground fault relay designed as a sinusoidal relay inserts in such a way that it only responds when a Earth fault within the protected area for which the earth fault relay is intended, occurs. In particular, the circuit is made so that the current coil of the Sinus relay excited by the difference in currents upstream and downstream of the apparatus to be protected will. The protective circuit is characterized by great sensitivity both when earth faults and when they occur of overcurrent and short circuits, even with very small and strongly phase-shifted Fault currents, off. It also has the advantage of a very simple structure, since all are within the area to be protected Apparatus occurring error through only two relays, the earth fault relay and the Differential relay, are detected.
Several exemplary embodiments of the invention are shown in the drawings.
Abb. ι zeigt den durch ein Sinusrelais vervollständigten Differentialschutz eines Generators, Fig. Ι shows the completed by a sine relay Differential protection of a generator,
Abb. 2 den Schutz eines Generators und Transformators, die zu einer Einheit zusammengeschlossen sind,Fig. 2 the protection of a generator and transformer, which are combined to form a unit,
Abb. 3 den Differentialschutz zweier parallel laufender Generatoren.Fig. 3 shows the differential protection of two generators running in parallel.
α is a generator, b a transformer, c i, c s < c s and d (I 1 , d ", d s are current transformers, f 1 a ground fault relay, which is designed as a sinusoidal relay, e a differential relay.
In the event of a ground fault within the protected area, e.g. B. at point F (see. Fig. 1), the secondary charging current flows through the winding e of the differential relay, the winding / ^ of the earth fault relay and closes via the secondary windings of the current transformers C 1 , C 3 , c z or d v do, d z . If an earth fault occurs outside the differential protection area, the Efdschluss-

At the moment of the earth fault, the relay also supplies the zero point voltage, but winding Z 1 remains de-energized and the relay does not respond.
Fig. 2 corresponds to the arrangement in Fig..i with the difference that generator α and transformer b are combined to form a unit and are protected by a common differential protection device known per se. The earth fault relay f \ is designed as a sine relay, while the earth fault relay f " can be designed either as a cosine relay or as a sine relay, depending on whether the high-voltage network connected to the transformer b delivers a sufficiently high watt component of the earth fault current or not.
If the generator or transformer zero point is earthed via a resistor w, as shown in Fig. 2, the earth fault current is usually strongly out of phase due to the influence of the generator or transformer inductance, and as a result the wattless component of the earth fault current outweighs the watt component. In this case too, a sine relay will work with greater reliability than a cosine relay.
The arrangement of the differential protection of the device according to Fig. 3 essentially corresponds to that of the first two exemplary embodiments. One of the two generators running in parallel, generator I, is earthed via a resistor w , while the other, generator II, is completely isolated from earth by a circuit breaker t. The ground fault relays Z 1 of the two generators I and II are designed as sinusoidal relays.
