Description
Bei den ersten Anfangen für Kupfertiefdruck wurden als Formzylinder Kupferrohre verwendet, die auf starke Graugußzylinder mit Stahlachsen aufgepreßt wurden. Heute werden diese Graugußzylinder gewöhnlich galvanisch mit einem Kupfermantel versehen, der immer wieder im Kupferbade aufgekupfert wird, wenn ein Anzahl Ätzungen abgeschliffen ist. Kupfermantel und Graugußzylinder bilden somit ein unzertrennliches Ganzes. Derartige Formzylinder sind hauptsächlich zum Druck von der Rolle in Verwendung. Für Bogendruckmaschiinen' ging man dazu über, Stahlrohre von ungefähr 5 mm Wandung zu verkupfern und diese auf einen in der Druckmaschine einseitig fest gelagerten Tragzylinder zu spannen, der als Expansionszylinder ausgebildet ist.
