Abstract

The process employs a computer-controlled atomizer supplied with coating material and thinner by two different sources. At least one width of coating material (2,2') is applied to the surface to be coated automatically, by computer control, and this material contains the thinner or has it added to it. Coating material and thinner are mixed at a regulated ratio before being sprayed. The surface is initially coated with a colored paint, with a viscosity reduced by the thinner, and a layer of clear paint is applied to cover beyond the limits of the previously applied paint.
