Abstract

An edge profile contains a first and second limb (2, 8), which are arranged at an essentially right angle to one another, whereby the edge profile can be joined to an edge of a working table top (52), particularly a laboratory table top, which is preferably made of stoneware or ceramic, by means of a bonding compound or an adhesive (42, 44). The aim of the invention is to provide the edge profile with a reduced structural complexity whereby ensuring a problem-free, functionally reliable fixing and guaranteeing a tight and durable termination of the table top edge. To this end, the edge profile has an essentially L-shaped cross-section and a clamping body (20) is provided, which can be joined to the second limb (8) by means of detent elements (22, 24) whereby enabling the edge profile to be clamped on the edge of the working table top (52).
