Abstract

Disclosed is a device for fastening especially a muzzle brake (6) to the end (1) of a barrel (2) of a weapon by means of a threaded joint. A locking mechanism (12) comprising at least two springs (14, 16), at least one locking nut (15), and at least two locking stones (10, 11) is provided for locking the muzzle brake (6) to the barrel (2) of the weapon. The locking stones (10, 11) are integrated into corresponding grooves (4) on the barrel (2) so as to be longitudinally adjustable relative to the barrel (2) and support at least two springs (14, 16) and the at least one locking nut (15). Furthermore, a thread (5) into which the thread of the locking nut (15) engages in order to fasten the locking mechanism (12) is integrated into the barrel (2) in the area of the grooves (4). Preferably, the muzzle brake (6) has guides (8, 9) which are integrated into the front thereof. The final area or stop area of said guides (8, 9) is fitted with depressions into which the locking stones (10, 11) can engage in order to lock the muzzle brake (6) onto the barrel (2).
