A device for the continuous treatment of molten metal, comprising a container with walls enclosing a melt treatment chamber, a melt inlet and outlet to produce metal flow through the chamber and at least one treatment unit in the melt, in which the inlet (1) and the outlet (2) are offset from one another on opposite side walls (12) and there is a cleaning door (4) for removing impurities in at least one wall (6, 13) between the side walls.
