Abstract
An irrigation tube (3) links to a first fluid container (2) at one end so as to hold an irrigation fluid (21) and to a surgical hand-piece (4) at the other end. An aspiration inlet tube (7) runs from the surgical hand-piece to a sucking pump's (8) inlet (9) so that fluid can be sucked through the hand-piece by the sucking pump. A pressure sensor (11) detects fluid pressure in the aspiration inlet tube. An independent claim is also included for a method for controlling fluid during ventilation of an aspiration inlet tube in a surgical system.
