Abstract
The shoe (3) retraction mechanism can be deactivated, when the shoe is pressed against the roller (8). This pressure is exerted by one or more axially-adjacent hydraulic cylinder units (2). The retraction mechanism acts outside the cylinder units, on the support (1) and pressure shoe (3). Springs (4) of the retraction mechanism, act at right angles to the length of the pressure shoe. These retraction springs have an interlocking connection with the shoe. The connection can be separated, to deactivate the retraction mechanism. The springs have tie bars running through them, in a radial direction with respect to the roller. The spring ends facing the pressure shoe, have an articulated connection with it. Spiral springs are used, the ends remote from the shoe being supported by a coupling component (9), against a stop end (11) of the corresponding tie bar. Several tie bars are associated with a common coupling component (9). Control actuators (10) act on the coupling components, which can be moved to separate the interlocking connection at the tie bar stop ends. The actuators are preferably hydraulic pressure units which press toward the springs and tension them, hence deactivating retraction.
