A supporting structure (1) with a number of wooden lamellae (6) glued together with a layer of adhesive (17) between each pair of lamellae, in which the adhesive in every layer (17) shows a yield point (fDK) which is lower than the flexural strength of the adjacent more highly-loaded lamella (6) : An independent claim is also included for an adhesive for use in (1), with a yield point (fDK) which is lower than the breaking point (fDB) (for compressive loads applied at right angles to the lamellae) of the adjacent lamella on the opposite side to the applied load.
