Abstract

A retracting seal for the underside of a door has a U-shaped support strip driven by a servo drive between a retracted position and an extended sealing position. An elastic U-shaped sealing strip is clipped over the support strip and has a profiled sealing end pressed onto the floor by the servo drive. The upper flanges of the support strip are angled outwards. The upper flanges of the sealing strip normally lie against the sloping edges of the support strip and are pressed into a sealing position when the support strip is extended. This ensures that the friction forces on the sealing strip only apply in the final phase of the seal deployment, with a considerable reduction in wear and tear of the sealing strip.
