Abstract
The method involves collecting oil in an oil sump (10), which is at least partly doubled walled. When there is an increased cooling need, the oil is supplied so that it circulates in the double-walled area of the oil sump. When there is less need for cooling, the oil is allowed to rest in the double-walled area of the oil sump. A suction opening (28) of the pump is partly connected to the double-walled area when there is an increased cooling need and is connected to the inner space in the oil sump when there is less need for cooling. An Independent claim is included for an internal combustion machine.
