Das Schlofs der Lamb'sehen Strickmaschine ist derart eingerichtet, dafs das Mitteldreieck c, Fig. ι und 2, durch einen horizontal verschiebbaren Schieber d auf- und niederbewegt wird. Ist dasselbe gesenkt, wie in Fig. 1 , so kommen die Nadeln in Thätigkeit, ist es dagegen, wie in Fig. 2, gehoben, so bleiben die Nadeine in Ruhe. Nun ist es z. B.-bei rund geschlossener oder Schlauchwaare erforderlich, dafs die Nadelfontouren der beiden Bettplatten abwechselnd Maschen bilden, und müssen daher nach jeder Reihe die Schlofsschieber , d bezw. die Mitteldreiecke c der beiden Schlösser verschoben werden. Die Verschiebung der Schlofsschieber d erfolgt aber bisher durch Anstofs an die auf beiden Seitenwänden der Strickmaschine angebrachten und in Fig. 5 punktirten Seitenschieber f; bewegt sich das Schlofs, Fig. ι und 2, in Richtung des Pfeiles % und tritt der Verlängerung d₁ der Seitenschieber f entgegen, so wird der Schlofsschieber d in der Pfeilrichtung χ verschoben und das Schlofs entweder geöffnet oder geschlossen.
