Permanent fuse for electrical lines Addition to patent 473 575 The invention relates to a further design of the permanent fuse for electrical lines according to patent 473 575. In this fuse, the contacts that open in the event of an overcurrent or short circuit are prevented from melting or scorching by the fact that the metal parts make a contact Have an enclosure made of carbon or other suitable material in such an arrangement that when the two contact parts are disconnected from the power supply by shifting them against each other, the last contact between the carbon enclosure of one metal part and the carbon enclosure of the other metal part takes place. The current interruption therefore takes place at the points of separation of the two contact parts between the two carbon enclosures, which withstand the interruption spark, but the carbon enclosures also protect the metal parts all around against the interruption spark.
The aim of the invention is to provide these contacts with a bald surround
owning metal part to a greater extent the destructive effect in particular of the
in the event of a short circuit, to prevent very strong tear-off sparks. You considered
the following circumstances: The metal part must be on the side on which on the carbon surround
the power interruption takes place, against which strong heating is protected,
which here the coal enclosure. suffers from the tear spark. It must be the short circuit spark
or its heat escaped between the contacts as quickly or easily as possible
otherwise the contacts could drift apart. The strenght
the tear-off spark depends on the speed of the interruption and this
on the length of the contact-forming surfaces.
The essence of the invention, taking these circumstances into account, now exists
that in both contact parts the metal parts next to the interruption of the current
the last contact with each other resulting points of the carbon surrounds a recess
own. An example embodiment is shown in Figs. R to 3 of the drawing in
enlarged dimensions.
in
Fig, r shows the two contact parts of a contact, namely the contact that can be moved by triggering is marked with I and the resting contact with II. The metal contact pieces d and b are encompassed by a carbon ring c or d in such a way that both the metal parts a, b and the carbon rings c, d are in contact with one another in a current-closing manner. The contact I moves in the direction of the arrow when it is triggered, and the stiom interruption takes place between the part of the carbon ring c located to the left of the metal part a and the part of the carbon ring d located to the right of the metal part b. When the current is interrupted, there is now strong heating or strong heat radiation on the mentioned part of the two carbon rings c, d, which can severely damage the two metal parts d, b. In order to prevent this, the two metal parts next to these parts of the carbon rings c, d, which result in the last contact between the two contact points I and II, are cut out. This recess can, as shown in Fig. I, be formed by a bevel e, which results in an empty space inside next to the carbon ring. The recess can also be produced by a complete flattening on the side of the metal part, as indicated by the dotted line in .dem metal part a. Since sharp edges on the metal parts are particularly easily attacked by the heat, the two corners that form the inclined or right-angled recess with the outer or surrounding surface of the metal part are rounded. These roundings can be seen in Fig. 2, which is a plan view of the contact side of the contact part II.
The carbon ring d of this resting contact part II is on both sides
beveled towards the direction of movement of the contact part 1 towards the contact surface,
so that, as can be seen from Fig. 3, the carbon surround d at these two points
is only narrow in the contact area. Nevertheless, the narrow charcoal enclosure protects
the metal part b against the attack of the tear-off spark, but it allows the
Short-circuit spark and the strong heat are released as easily and quickly as possible
or can get to the outside. This will reduce the harmful effect of the tear-off spark
on the contact parts further prevented, but especially also prevents the
Pressure of the tear-off spark and the heat drive the contact parts apart.
In the case of the contact part I, the carbon ring c can also be beveled on both sides
be, in which case the disk-shaped carrier of this contact part is a corresponding one
Would own recess.
Instead of the bevel on these two sides of the carbon ring can
the latter can be made narrower or thinner at these two points. The coal ring
c is on the side facing the direction of opening movement of the contact part I.
is made narrower, as can be seen in Fig. i and 2. Likewise is the coal ring
d thinner on the side that is in the direction of opening movement than on the other side
of the contact part I is turned away. There .the coal rings with these two places
are not involved in the interruption of this current, here is the protection of the metal parts
c, b less necessary due to the carbon rings c, d, the latter can therefore be weaker here
be. The narrowing of the carbon rings, however, has a shortening of the contact-forming ones
Area in the direction of movement of the contact part 1 result. As a result: but becomes
a quick interruption of this contact and thus, if possible, the creation
excessively strong tear-off sparks avoided.
