Description
In the wireless transmission devices working with modulation, as in wireless telephonic and video telegraphy, this consists of the fact that besides the original unmodulated carrier oscillation is more or less large frequency band lying on both sides of this occurs, which has a value in telephony of around 10,000 / sec. owns. The requirement for a faithful, undistorted transmission is now, that the mutual amplitude ratio of all these side frequencies during the Transmission is preserved as far as possible.
For a more detailed explanation of the conditions occurring in transmitter systems, the attached images.
Die Kurve in Abb. 1 bedeute beispielsweise die Resonanzkurve eines Antennenkreises (auftretender Stromeffekt E in Abhängigkeit vonThe curve in Fig. 1 means, for example, the resonance curve of an antenna circuit (occurring current effect E as a function of
Ein Beispiel möge dies erläutern: Bei einer Wellenlänge λ = 300 m entsprechend einer Frequenz/= 1 000 000 sek. beträgt die äußerste obere Seitenfrequenz ι 010 000'sek. entsprechend einer relativenao the relative detuning V with respect to the operating or carrier frequency). As is known, the shape of the curve is essentially determined by the damping and will be the flatter the greater the damping. Is now z. B. α Λ occurring at a certain operating wavelength, a side frequency band of 10000 / sec. corresponding mutual detuning range, then in the assumed curve the individual side frequencies occur with only a relatively small mutual change in amplitude. However, if this area becomes larger, for example as shown in the figure with a, 2 , which is the case with the transition to longer operating carrier waves, then a significant attenuation of the more distant frequencies occurs, which, as mentioned above, a distortion of the telephony sent out means. An example may explain this: At a wavelength λ = 300 m corresponding to a frequency / = 1 000 000 sec. the outermost upper side frequency is ι 010 000 sec. according to a relative

B. für transatlantische Telephonie oder Wirtschaftsrundfunk benutzt wird) über, beispielsweise auf eine Welle λ = 6 ooo m entsprechend einer Frequenz von /=50000, so wird die entsprechende Verstimmung in die-we now turn to a larger operating wave (such as for transatlantic telephony or Wirtschaftsrundfunk is used) over, for example, on a wave λ = 6,000 m accordingly a frequency of / = 50000, the corresponding detuning is

Vorliegende Erfindung bezieht sich nun auf eine weitere Verbesserung einer der-rem significantly increased value, which, like a numerical consideration based on practically occurring resonance curves of antenna circles shows, must have a significant distortion as a result, and why even so-called single-sideband telephony with a frequency band of, only 5,000 'sec. cannot change anything substantial. It has now been proposed by suitable means that of an antenna to artificially broaden the frequency band that is allowed to pass in order to ensure undistorted transmission of the entire modulation frequency band. The present invention relates to now on a further improvement of one of the
artigen Einrichtung. It turns out that in transmitter systems the broadening of the Resionance curve in other respects again brings significant disadvantages. As is well known namely generate all, high-frequency transmitters in addition to the desired for broadcast to be brought fundamental wave a more or less large number of upper or side waves, which a practical operation ίο several stations can interfere strongly under certain circumstances and therefore by all means must be suppressed from the outset in their strength to a practical minimum. The best known basic means of avoiding the occurrence of such vibrations is possible to use weakly dampened circles, i.e. those with a resonance curve that is as sharp as possible. This is but just the opposite, as described above to achieve an undistorted Modulation is required.,
The present invention now has the object of eliminating or to a practical minimum, and consists essentially in that the in itself initially some high-frequency energy generated in a circle with as little attenuation as possible the carrier wave is then modulated in an oscillation system, the resonance curve of which is due to any artificial means to the desired, all relevant modulation waves comprehensive band is widened, so that on the one hand disturbing harmonics or side waves are already suppressed in their generation when the vibration is generated and, on the other hand, all modulation waves are also suppressed an amplitude ratio that is still permissible for a practical undistorted transmission nis occur.
One means of doing this is to use multi-wave oscillation systems that consist of more or less tightly coupled, to the same or approximately the same oscillation circles tuned to the same frequency exist. Preferably to be used interconnected circles of exactly the same vote, each of which for itself. z. B. has a resonance curve of the shape shown in Fig. 1 (in the case of two such Kreisle) a resulting curve of the shape according to Fig. 2, which by changing the damping of the individual circles as well as their coupling can be given any shape can, so that it approaches the rectangular shape as possible, for example, as it is for the uninformed transmission of the whole Frequency band is most desirable. There, however, the human ear up to one is able to compensate for volume differences by itself to a certain extent, irregularities can occur of the curve, like depressions, can be accepted to a certain extent. Instead of two circles, like Assuming in the figure, in order to achieve a correspondingly broad resonance curve several of which are also used.
Fig. 2 now shows that when using such a multi-wave system, undistorted transmission is also possible for the longer wave with a larger detuning range (δ 2); But the arrangement can also be important for shorter waves, namely when extremely high modulation frequencies, ie even wider frequency bands, are to be expected, as is the case, for example, with image telegraphy, where a frequency band of up to 50,000 / sec. or in television, where even higher values can occur.
Fig. 3 shows a practical example of the inventive idea for a tube transmitter. 1 is a transmitter tube in feedback circuit, 2 the anode resonant circuit capacitance, 3 the anode resonant circuit self-induction. The antenna 9 coupled to the resonant circuit contains in order to achieve a corresponding broad resonance curve a multi-wave system, consisting of the two preferably on matched the same operating shaft, coupled to one another by the coupling coil 8 Oscillation circuits 4, 5 and 6, 7. ι ο is the earth connection point, 11 is the high-frequency winding an iron modulation choke, in whose DC control circuit 14 a battery 13 and a microphone 12 is switched on. 15 denotes an anode blocking capacitor and 16 a choke coil. If the modulation does not take place as shown in the figure, in the anode circuit, but in a preceding multi-wave circuit (intermediate circuit, etc.) must, according to the invention all subsequent circles are selected or produced with a correspondingly broad resonance curve. The high frequency energy is thereby in the slightly damped primary circuit 2, 3 with sharp tuning generated in order to achieve a pure carrier wave and then in the following secondary (antenna) Vibration system modulated with artificially broadened resonance curve.
Ebenso wird man beim Poulsensender den Lichtbogen-(Erzeuger-) Kreis einwellig ausführen und die Modulation in einem folgenden, mehrwelligIn the case of externally controlled tube transmitters, widening and modulation is useful to be carried out at the main transmitter, since the exciter is self-excited and with multiple ripples Could cause beats and thereby become resounding. Likewise, with the Poulsen transmitter, the arc (generator) Execute a circle with one wave and the modulation in a subsequent one, multi-wave
gestalteten Schwingungssystem (Zwischenkreis, Antennenkreis) vornehmen. At all Transmitters with devices for harmonic or secondary wave exemption, especially in the case of mass transmitters, after what has been said, it should also be noted that this must be undertaken first and only then after the liberation of parasitic oscillations has taken place, the modulation in a multi-wave system may be made, as it is difficult on the one hand to be in a circle with a wide resonance curve to eliminate interference and on the other hand with the modulation an impure carrier wave also modulates the harmonic and secondary waves to a greater or lesser extent and thus the emitted interference frequencies can be multiplied to the unmeasurable.
