In beiden Fällen
in Verbindung stehen.
vermeiden.Fire extinguishers, in which the inner air space with the air space of the
Outlet pipe is connected by pipes. The invention relates to a fire extinguisher.
in which the inner air space is connected to the air space of the outlet pipe by pipes
is. In known fire extinguishers of this type, it could happen that during the
Filling of the extinguisher into the pipe connecting the air spaces with extinguishing liquid
which penetrates from the pipeline into the chamber connecting the two branches
did not drain completely. Rather, they were named in your airspace
of the extinguisher emptying pipe limb held back the liquid piston passing through
the low pressure in the air space of the extinguisher due to temperature changes or
by splitting off gases from the extinguishing liquid, not in the one mentioned
Chamber could be driven down and thus the connection of the air spaces inside the extinguisher
and blocked in the outlet pipe. It could also happen that the liquid content
the water lock chamber switched on in the equalization line prematurely
emptied or not sufficient in particular when spraying upwards with the extinguisher,
in order to block the pipe opening into the air space of the outlet pipe. In both cases
it was then inevitable that when the extinguisher was operating through the equalizing line
Pressurized gas escaped. The subject matter of the invention eliminates this disadvantage in that
the inlet opening of the pipe opening into the air space of the extinguisher through a
Float is controlled. This float leaves during the storage of the extinguisher
the inlet opening of the pipe mentioned free, so that both air spaces with each other
stay in contact. But as soon as the operating pressure is generated in the extinguisher, presses
this the float to the mouth of the equalizing line, so that through the latter
no compressed gas can escape. Another advantage of this float is that
that he during the filling, such extinguishers, which during the filling process on the head
must be placed, floats and also normally in the airspace
The mouth of the extinguisher closes off the equalizing line, so that in this
no liquid can enter. This also eliminates the disadvantage mentioned at the beginning
prevents the occurrence of liquid pistons in the equalizing line. The swimmer
therefore makes the arrangement of the known water seal chamber in the equalizing line
superfluous. If you want to use it anyway, as a precaution, it no longer has
to act as a water lock chamber, but only as a collection chamber for those
small amounts of liquid that could possibly enter the equalizing line,
even before the swimmer's buoyancy act when the extinguisher is turned over and the
can close the corresponding opening of the compensation line. The danger,
that
these small amounts of liquid in the. Compensating line acting as a shut-off
Water flasks can be formed by using a sufficient diameter:
for the compensating line or by designing the same with different cross-sections
avoid.
The drawing illustrates in a partial section through one
Fire extinguisher an embodiment of the subject matter of the invention.
In the drawing, d is the container for the extinguishing liquid, b and c the riser pipe of the extinguisher leading to the spray nozzle d. The pipes e and f, which establish the connection between the air space g of the extinguisher and the air space la of the outlet pipe, are arranged in a manner known per se so that the pipe e in the outlet pipe and the pipe f in the interior of the extinguishing agent container lies = t . The liquid storage chamber i is connected between the two tubes, which, however, may also be completely absent under certain circumstances, so that the tubes e, f form a single U-shaped bent tube. The tubes e and f have a reduced cross-section near their opening into the air spaces b and h, but can also have the same cross-section everywhere. Above the opening of the pipe f into the chamber g lies a bell-shaped float k, which is provided with passages l in its upper end, which emerges from the extinguishing liquid b, and contains a sealing plate or the like at the bottom of its recess. In the position shown of the float, its passages l enable the air space g to be connected to the air space IL of the riser pipe c or the outside air. If the extinguisher is put under operating pressure, it presses the float k with the sealing plate m tightly onto the mouth of the pipe f so that the pressure medium cannot escape through the equalizing line e, f. If the extinguisher is turned upside down, the float k floats and also closes the mouth of the pipe f through its buoyancy by means of the sealing plate m, so that no liquid can enter the latter.
The float k can be guided in a suitable manner, for example
by means of a rod which is guided in a loop o attached to the tube f.
