Gesichtsschutz bei Behandlung infektiöser Erkrankungen. Bei der Laryngoskopie
(Untersuchung des Kehlkopfinnern), operativen Eingriffen im Munde und Kehlkopf bei
infektiösen Erkrankungen aller Art, z. B. Kehlkopftuberkulose, offener Lungentuberkulose,
Diphtherie, Influenza u. dgl., besitzt der Arzt bisher keinen geeigneten Schutz
gegen die eigene Ansteckung durch Tröpfcheninfektion. Die bisher verwandten Schutzmittel,
wie Untersuchung hinter einer Glasscheibe oder den schwer desinfizierbaren und kostspieligen
Masken, sind im Gebrauch zu umständlich
und zum Mitführen bei Hausbesuchen
ungeeignet. Durch den Gegenstand der Erfindung sollen vorbenannte Nachteile behoben
und dem Arzt ein sicherer Schutz gegen die Tröpfcheninfektion (z. B. durch Anhusten
des Patienten) geboten werden, ohne die Arbeitsweise bei der Krankenbehandlung irgendwie
zu beeinträchtigen. Erfindungsgemäß ist ein Schutzblatt aus glasklarem, widerstandsfähigem,
biegsamem, durch Anhauchen nicht beschlagendem Material, beispielsweise das im Warenzeichen
so benannte »Cellophan«, vorgesehen, welches undurchdringlich für Bakterien und
Mikroben ist. Das Gesicht des Arztes wird mit diesem Schutzblatt bedeckt und, um
eine leichte -Befestigungsmöglichkeit zu schaffen, ist eine Stirnseite des Schutzblattes
mit einer Leiste aus dünnem Karton o. dgl. versehen, welche beispielsweise unter
den Stirnreifen des Beleuchtungsspiegels geschoben wird. An dieser verstärkten Stirnseite
ist ferner eine Gummischnur o. dgl. vorgesehen, die, um den Kopf des Arztes geführt,
das Anlegen des Schutzblattes beim Nichtverwenden des Stirnreifens leicht gestattet.
Um. ein Hochflattern des Schutzblattes zu verhindern, kann das untere freie Ende
des Blattes mit schmaler Kartonleiste o. dgl. versehen werden. In diesem Karton
