Es ist bekannt, daß bei Mauerwerken, welche hohen Temperaturen ausgesetzt sind, die Verfugmasse bzw. der zur Anwendung kommende Mörtel in kurzer Zeit rissig und spröde wird und aus den Fugen herausfällt, wodurch oft das ganze Mauerwerk gefährdet wird. Man hat bereits versucht, diesen übelstand durch sogenannte feuerfeste Mörtel zu beseitigen; diese wurden hergestellt aus Sand und Ton oder Sand, Schamotte, Ton und anderen Materialien, je nachdem, ob der Mörtel bei höherer oder niedrigerer Temperatur flüssig werden soll. Nennenswerte Erfolge waren jedoch nicht zu verzeichnen. Eine gute Verfugmasse wird nun erhalten, wenn gemäß der Erfindung Schamottemehl mit Sand und Teer zusammengemischt wird und dieses Mischgut mit Wasser angerührt zur Verwendung kommt. Diese Verfugmasse hat den bisher bekannt gewordenen anderen Massen gegenüber den großen Vorteil, daß sie sowohl auf Eisen als auch auf Mauerwerk haftet, und daß sie Dehnungen des Mauerwerks, die infolge der Erwärmung eintreten, mitmacht, ohne den Zusammenhang zu verlieren; infolgedessen wird eine dauernde und absolut dichte Abschließung des Mauerwerks gewährleistet; besonders bei Dampfkesseleinmauerungen wird der Zutritt falscher Luft gehindert, wodurch die Verbrennung rationeller gestaltet werden kann.Grouting compound or joint-sealing 1Vlörtel, mainly for boiler walls.
