Description
Process for separating chlorobarium from solutions. It is known, that one can separate chlorobarium from solutions by means of hydrogen chloride by either aqueous hydrochloric acid is added to the solutions or hydrochloric acid gases are passed in. If you now use technical hydrochloric acid gases for this purpose, as they are z. B. at the production of sulphates from table salt and sulfuric acid, a chlorine barium is obtained, which is always contaminated with barium sulfate. This is because the technical hydrochloric acid gases contaminated by sulfuric acid and sulphurous acid are. The sulfuric acid naturally forms barium sulfate without further ado. But also the sulphurous acid gives rise to the formation of barium sulphate, namely from for the following reason: The hydrochloric acid gases coming from the sulphate ovens are always through Air is considerably diluted, so that the atmospheric oxygen when the gases are introduced into the Chlorbarium solution intermediate barium sulfite is oxidized to barium sulfate.
It has now been found that the evils described can be avoided can if you remove the hydrochloric acid gases before they act on the chlorobarium solution be brought, a treatment with large surface substances, such. B. active coal, or concentrated hydrochloric acid, which contains chlorbarium in solid form as a suspension contains, or is subject to the action of both agents. When working with large surface areas Substances, it has also proven to be useful, the gases to be treated before they are exposed to the action of large-surface substances, with concentrated Wash sulfuric acid.
