Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a bridge and reed system to improve the sound of string instruments (hereinafter Called bridge and reed block system) with the characteristics the preamble of claim 1.
The sound of excellent old violins is so beguiling that the desire to own new instruments with this to provide the shaft is too understandable.
The custom, for this reason too, such old ones So far, it has rarely been possible to copy instruments true to the original led to the intended success.
The very fact that the vibration properties of the often dried over centuries, and thus thinner, and in its structure denser and firmer wood these efforts cannot be copied. As a rule, therefore, you can read your own workmanship executed, new instruments often qualities like tonal balance of all strings, easy response language, sound spectrum rich in overtones, "large tone", trag missing ability etc.
Construction experiments, such as B. the particularly thin Ausar preparing the sound box for the purpose of a good start language, have already ruined many a new instrument, since under the strong tension of the strings the static Simply no longer met requirements.
The invention described below offers a solution, handcrafted instruments with reasonable statics to give an excellent sound without their natural ripening process designed for life affect.
In addition to their purely mensurating, the bridge and reed block or static function primarily the delicate task, the different vibrations of several, often the same to convert timely excited strings and to the resonance body transfer.
The lower the energy loss, this transmission and therefore accompanying reinforcement takes place, the more satisfactory is the sonic result.
The bridge, reed block, ceiling and floor form a mechanical one Lever system in which the transverse string vibrations gen converted into primarily longitudinal web vibrations which in turn cover the transversal swin stimulations, which then make the reed primary again cause longitudinal vibrations etc.
The pivot points in this complex lever system are theo retically identical to the places where the Tuning stick the ceiling or the floor in power and load arms is divided.
The bridge feet and reed end faces are more conventional Bridges or reed blocks are a bad turn points "because they, especially around the sensitive spruce To protect wooden ceilings against selective overload, ent designed with a large area and as perfect as possible the body curvature must be adjusted.
The technical double task now is a lever to construct a system with extremely small pivot points, without making changes to the proven contact surface geometry of the bridge and reed block. This object is achieved by the invention with the features of the characterizing part of claim 1 solved. The fundamental difference to conventional bars and reed blocks is that in the invention of the possibility is used, the same in each case separate separate functional elements, which are only and only by the string pressure or by the clamp tension between ceiling and floor in a point bearing group again into inseparable functional units to let.
B. bestimmte Hartmetallsorten an.Such a point bearing essentially consists of a a body forming the smallest possible point (if possible Cone tip) and a bearing pan that receives them, which for reasons of clear bearing point orientation should be deepened as possible in a semi-hollow sphere. In order to such a point bearing under the high pressure load works optimally for a long time, should only be solid or Coating materials are used, the qualities such as hardness, fracture and wear resistance in extreme Unite dimensions. There are z. B. certain Carbide grades.
In the present embodiment, for all Tungsten carbide pivot body of grade K 10 and for Bearing cup body micro grain K 01 selected. Since this Material specifically is very heavy, and because of its high inertia is inferior to vibrating wood, in the case of a solid version, it should only be in dimensions be used which is the measure of static need not exceed what, moreover, the receipt of the accustomed optical aesthetics of a string instrument very accommodating.
A preferred embodiment of the invention, using the example shown a violin, will now be referenced to the accompanying figures are described in detail.
Fig. 1 shows the bridge module and the reed module in the correctly positioned state with additional cuts through the right bearing element of the bridge module and through the lower bearing element of the reed module. For the sake of clarity, this figure also shows the special tools inserted into the instrument through the right FF hole.
Fig. 2 shows a longitudinal section through a violin in the area of the reed module.
The invention consists of a bridge module and a reed module. The former is composed of the web element, consisting of the web body 1 , conveniently made from a conventional web, with firmly attached (e.g. glued) fulcrum bodies 2 , and the bearing elements, consisting of the base bodies 3 and with these firmly connected (e.g. glued) bearing socket bodies 4 , in the center of which there are depressions 5 for receiving the pivot point bodies 2 .
Der Kegelspitzenwinkel der Drehpunktkörper ist mit 90 Grad angenommen, der Kegelbasisdurchmesser mit 1,5 mm.The bearing pan body can either simply on the Base body are applied, or optionally with your Central area are embedded in the same around the To be able to bring the fulcrum closer to the ceiling. In the present embodiment, the Lagerpfan body as a stepped cylinder with a diameter of 6 mm and 2 mm, and a total height of 1.3 mm. The small cylinders are in the appropriate holes the base body inserted and glued in the middle. The Base bodies can conveniently be made from conventional ones Bridge feet are made, which is possible in the usual way adjusted to the vaulted ceiling beforehand. The The strength assumed here is approx. 1 mm. The cone tip angle of the fulcrum body is with Assuming 90 degrees, the cone base diameter is 1.5 mm.
The reed block module is composed of the reed block element consisting of the reed block body 6 with pivot bodies 7 located at both ends thereof, and the bearing elements consisting of the base bodies 8 and the bearing pan bodies 9 firmly connected to them, in the center of which are semi-hollow recesses 10 Recording the fulcrum body 7 are. In the present exemplary embodiment, the reed block body consists of a 1 mm thick round bar made of hard metal (grade K 10), at the two ends of which the fulcrum bodies are directly ground at an assumed angle of 90 degrees. The fulcrum bodies can also be fixed (e.g. glued) to the ends of conventional reeds. The bearing pan body can either be simply applied to the base body, or optionally with its central area embedded in it, so that the pivot points can be brought closer to the ceiling and floor. In the present exemplary embodiment, the bearing socket body was designed as a stepped cylinder with a diameter of 6 mm and 2 mm and a total height of 1 mm. With their small cylinders, they are embedded and glued into the matching central holes in the cylindrical base body. The base body can e.g. B. be made of suitable wood, plastic or another material that is gentle on the resonance body and has a diameter of approximately 0.5 mm and 6 mm outer diameter.
For mounting in the instrument body is recommended when using the tuning stick elements shown in the embodiment, an assembly aid 16 , the z. B. consists of a highly flexible iblen rubber tube, which is drawn on the one hand over the upper end of the tuning pole with the cone grinded on it, and is slightly glued to the bearing pan at the edge of its other end. The thus elastically fixed combination is now placed with an individually formable special reed post 11 , at one end of which there is a cut rubber tube 12 for elastic clamping of the reed post, inside the instrument body with its lower pivot point body in the lower, loose bearing element which is then dragged to the desired location. As soon as the upper bearing element is now in the correct place on the ceiling, the special reed post setter releases the reed post with the appropriate pull and is pulled out of the FF hole of the instrument. The assembly aid can now also be removed if desired. Corrections of the location of the lower bearing element can be made with a normal reed setter. For location corrections of the upper bearing element, an individually formable corrector 13 with its different ends 14 and 15 is recommended, with the aid of which the bearing element can be pulled closer or pushed further away. The control is done as usual with a special mirror.
Even though the often lengthy search for the ideal location of the reed module, and with it accompanying length adjustment accurate to 1 / 10th of a mm of the reed block element is now no longer required at least the previously necessary, complex adjustment on the ceiling and floor curvature, as this is automatic is taken over by the bearing elements.
