Abstract

A container e.g. for cosmetics has a base 11 to which a ring 12 is fixed. A lid 13 is hinged at 19 and closed by snap engagement of a tooth 14 with an edge 16 on the ring 12. The tooth 14 can be disengaged to open the lid 13 by actuation of a push button 20 housed in a cylindrical guide 21 formed in the base 11. Resilient arms 25 on the button 20 extend through slots in the guide 21 to prevent rotation of the button and the ends of the arms are held between the ring 12 and the base 11 so that the arms 25 restore the button 20 to the position shown when pressure is released. <IMAGE>
