Description

Process for the production of silicates. Purpose of the above procedure is to silicates with crushed substances, such as magnesia; Calcium oxide, barium oxide, to implement.

For this purpose, burnt magnesia or burnt lime is ground and mixed with powdered silicates, such as artificial slag, brick flour, volcanic tuff and similar substances, intimately mixed with water and made to extinguish. Under the influence of the extinguishing heat, the Hvdroxvd, which is in the process of formation, is able to break down the powdery silicates: Depending on the amount of water added, a powdery or sludge-like material is created. It was found that the above-described effect of the materials mentioned can be increased if traces of other colloids are added to initiate the process of colloid formation, which act as accelerators, such as. B. colloidal silica. Example: 50 kg of dried tufa ash is mixed with about 12 kg of Ca0 and 1 kg of colloidal silica and then the mixture is ground for the most intimate mixing, then -11, - H.0, in which 0.3 kg of water glass is dissolved, is added and that Whole intimately mixed by stirring. A dry powder is produced; if the same is then to be obtained as a sludge, further water is added later, depending on the desired consistency.
