Die beiden Zylinder werden hintereinander auf eine Welle gesetzt. Jeder Zylinder ist mit zwei gegenüberliegenden Trennwänden und Kanälen rechts und links davon ausgestattet. Aus dem gleichen Grund liegt zur Seite jeweils nur der Umriß der Kolben an der Zylinderseitenfläche auf, der Rest ist ein Stück zurückgesetzt. An den Trennwänden, die seitlich in den Zylindern geführt werden, sind an den Seiten nach unten verlängerte Nasen angebracht, die unter den Kolbenumriß greifen und die Trennwand so mitnehmen. Zur Kolbenoberfläche hin sind sie mit einem oder mehreren Feinabdichtungskeilen ausgestattet, die mit einer Kraft an den Kolben angedrückt werden. In den zurückgesetzten Kolbenseitenflächen zirkuliert durch einen Kanal in der Welle Schmier- bzw. Kühlmittel. Ein- und Auslässe liegen in den Seitenflächen, da sie sonst durch den minimal verkleinerten Kolben nicht abgedichtet werden würden. Da dies im Arbeitszylinder wegen der großen Einlaßquerschnitte nicht möglich ist, wird durch zwei an der Mantelfläche des Kolbens angebrachte und nachspannende Nocken verhindert, daß sich das Gas in der Brennkammer mit dem schon verbrannten Gas vermischt und sich so frühzeitig entzündet.
