man sogenannte
Diffuser for centrifugal fans. To with centrifugal fans
and blowers of a similar design to make the production boxes as small as possible,
these machines are built for relatively high exit speeds
Air. But this has the disadvantage that the speed corresponding to this speed -
dynamic pressure level causes poor fan efficiency. To now
to make this pressure head usable again in part
one so-called
Diffusers used, which consist of an elongated, gradually conical widening
Pipe. In this pipe the speed of the air flow becomes almost identical
reduced with a simultaneous increase in the static pressure head. These diffusers
but, since the angle of inclination of the cone is only small, a very long length
which makes them expensive and takes up a lot of space.
The diffuser according to the invention avoids this drawback by
that a number of blades are installed in the diffuser in an oblique direction in such a way that
that they subdivide the closed air flow coming from (learn fan) and
at the same time deflect the partial flows by about go °. This will make every single partial flow
subjected to a diffuser effect without the device having a considerable overall length
receives. In addition, the subdivision avoids turbulence in the air.
You can arrange several such inclined rows of blades one behind the other in order to
to increase the diffusion effect accordingly.
It has already been suggested for fans that in the housing,
the one coming out of the individual fan blades through these blades
split airflow surrounds to arrange a series of inclined blades,
which also have a certain diffusion effect. But then it is necessary to do this
Housing around a second, larger housing to be arranged, which the partial air flows
then collects it again and feeds it to the outlet connection of the fan.
This also increases the size of the device considerably. According to the invention
the undivided air flow of the fan is divided directly by individual blades
and deflected about 90 degrees, one or more times, so that each desired
Diffuser effect can be achieved with a relatively short overall length: Such a
The diffuser can then either be attached to the existing fan or directly in
be built into it. The number of bends in the air flow can be arbitrary
However, in most cases a double curvature is sufficient.
An embodiment of such a diffuser is shown in the drawing, namely Fig. I shows the fan with attached diffuser. Figure 2 shows, on a larger scale, a section through two sets of guide vanes. The centrifugal fan a carries at its outlet connection b a box c in which two sets of blades d and e are installed. As can be seen in particular from Fig. 2, these blades are curved and placed in relation to one another in such a way that the space between them widens like a nozzle. The blades can either be made of simple sheet metal or cast, with double walls, i.e. hollow on the inside, etc. The air flow coming from the nozzle b is first broken down by the blades d into a number of air layers, each layer of air passing through the blades is deflected in its direction, as the arrows show, and at the same time is reduced in its speed as a result of the expansion of the cross section between the blades. The layers of air then pass through the blades e, where they are deflected again and again reduced in their speed. The finally exiting air has a much lower speed than in the outlet connection b of the fan, so that its static pressure level is much greater.
Under certain circumstances, further blade sets can be connected,
which work in the same way.
It is also possible to expand the space between the nozzle-like
to effect two blades each in the direction perpendicular thereto, with
then the whole box c is conical in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the drawing
expanded. The diffuser can be used for all possible gases and vapors and also for liquids
can be used. The curvature of the airway can be in one or more
Lay planes, possibly also extend helically.
