Description
Stocking and method of manufacture. In the case of an ordinary stocking, it closes at the crook of the foot, the foot is attached directly to the lengths, with the result that the stocking tears at this point, which is also communicated to the heel will. In the stocking according to the invention, between lengths are at the crook of the foot and foot some rows only worked across the width of the crook of the foot, creating this there is no unwanted distortion of the goods. In the ones that arise at the side of these rows The specially crafted heel pieces are inserted into gaps by stitching or linking, while they are attached or incorporated into ordinary stockings.
The process for the production of this stocking differs significantly from your process, according to which stockings were previously made on flat knitting machines became. The production of such ordinary stockings in fine mesh on the flat knitting loom generally causes greater difficulties than after working the Heel back the length of the stitches previously thrown from the needles Needles have to be brought and also the edge stitches of the heel parts yourself. This work is very cumbersome. The machine must stand still, whereby the efficiency of the same is significantly reduced, apart from the fact that this work also places great demands on the eyesight of the worker. To the new procedure eliminates both evils. It eliminates the belching of the above listed stitches of the length and the edge stitches of the heel parts, because none Stitches are thrown off the needles and because there are no heel parts on the lengths be processed. The machine does not need to be shut down to will; So you can wear the stocking without a heel without interruption from the beginning to the end End of work. The heel parts are worked on special 'machines and only after completion of the stocking piece by stitching or linking in (read item of goods inserted.
Fig. I and 2 shows the old, well-known production method of a stocking, Fig. 5 shows a picture of such, Fig. 6a a single (right) heel piece, Fig. 6 the shape of the new stocking itself.
The stocking length A (Fig. i) has been finished to the heel. The stitches a, b of the foot blade are thrown off the needles; on the needles c, a and b, d, first the heel parts F have been made. Now the stitches a, b have to be brought back onto the machine's needles and on the left and right of these needles the edge stitches a, a1 and b, b of the two heel parts F (Fig. 2 Then the basic thread works across the entire width of the fabric for foot C. The heel parts are worked into the stocking.
According to the new method, after completing the length _d on the needles c, a and b, d (Fig. 3 and d.), On which the heel is usually made, a few protective rows up to C1, e or e are placed by means of a thread guide ,, dl, mostly with. a special thread, made while the basic thread is laid and processed on the needles a, b. To save time, you will do both at the same time. This creates three pieces of goods next to each other. When the sufficient number of such rows has been completed, the heel thread guides are shut down and the basic thread again extends over the entire width of the fabric c, d. The foot C and the tip are made. It does not matter whether as many protective rows are made as rows for the foot flexion part a, b or whether more or fewer protective rows are made. The sock is finished in a single operation without interruption and without having to shut down the machine for a long time.
After the sock is removed from the needles, "> the protective rows are grounded at one point, e.g. B. in the line N, N1, cut apart so that the goods gape at these points (see Fig. D.). When the protective rows are pulled up, the gaps c, a, e, c, or: cd, b, e1, d ,, are created B. used according to Fig. 6a by linking or stitching. The beginning row b, (1 of the heel F is connected with the end row b, d of the length (Fig. D.), The edge stitches b, b1 of the heel part with the edge stitches b, cl of the foot flexion rows and the beginning row of the foot piece e1, cl, , so that the stocking has the design shown in Fig. 6. In the same way (left heel piece is inserted into the gap c, a, e, c.
Because at the bend of the foot at b (Fig. 3, q., 6) a few rows in the width of the footplate are worked into the sock as a whole, this point becomes more flexible as with the stocking fig. 5 (shape in the usual way), the goods are not so pulled, like this one, which naturally affects the load-bearing capacity and durability a lot exerts favorable influence. But the fact that the stocking piece is made in one operation, because this is an inconvenience away, which often occurs after your old procedure and consists in that, because the Feet are usually made on other machines like the stocking lengths, one unequal mesh length in lengths and feet or confusion of the There is yarn for the feet, which has unpleasant consequences.
