Description
Die Erfindung betrifft die mehrkanalige Datenübertragung über Infrarot, wobei jeder einzelne der Kanäle netzwerkfähig ist, d. h. in jedem einzelnen der Kanäle können zeitlich gemultiplext mehrere Teilnehmer miteinander kommunizieren. Diese Eigenschaft ist wesentlich zur Realisierung sog. drahtloser lokaler Netzwerke (engl. Wireless Local Area Networks), bei denen entweder mehrere voneinander getrennte Benutzergruppen im gleichem Raum koexistieren sollen oder aber der Raum in mehrere physikalische Bereiche aufgeteilt werden soll, wobei diese so angelegt sind, daß sich nie zwei Bereiche gleicher Frequenz überlappen; dadurch kann jeder Bereich von einem getrennten Netzwerkserver bedient werden, was wiederum den Betrieb praktisch unbegrenzt vieler Teilnehmer in ein und demselben Raum erlaubt.The invention relates to multi-channel data transmission via Infrared, with each of the channels being network-compatible, d. - 4. die erzielbare Datenübertragungsrate durch Serien-/Parallelwandung im Modulator im Verhältnis zur verfügbaren Bandbreite vervielfacht wird.
