Um nun die Erwärmung der Motorzylinder zu beschleunigen, wird erfindungsgemäß nur ein Teil des Kühlwassers erhitzt, und zwar der die Motorzylinder umspülende Teil. Damit diese teilweise Erhitzung des Kühlwassers ermöglicht wird, wird der betreffende Teil des Kühlwassers an seiner Weiterbewegung verhindert. Zu dem Zweck kann ein Temperaturkontrollventil (Thermostat) an - geeigneter Stelle, zweckmäßig im Wasserauslaufstutzen, angeordnet sein, welches sich erst dann öffnet, wenn das Wasser in dem geeigneten Maße erwärmt ist.
