Bekanntlich bildet die Reglung selbsterregter Dynamomaschinen mittels eines im Nebenschlußerregerkreise liegenden Regelwiderstandes Schwierigkeiten, wenn die Spannung der Maschine soweit herabgesetzt wird, daß der Erregungszustand einem Punkte des geradlinigen Teiles der Maschinencharakteristik entspricht. Mittels des Nebenschlußregelwiderstandes kann die Spannung nur so weit herabgesetzt werden, bis das Knie der Charakteristik überschritten ist; in einer Grenzstellung des Reglers, für welche die Charakteristik des Spannungsbedarfs im Erregerkreise und die Maschinencharakteristik zusammenfallen, ist die Spannung nicht eindeutig beherrschbar und kann verschiedene nicht vorausbestimmbare Werte annehmen.
