Die Erfindung betrifft ein Röntgenspektrometer gemäß dem
Oberbegriff des Anspruchs 1.The invention relates to an X-ray spectrometer according to the
Preamble of claim 1.
In derartigen Röntgenspektrometern wird eine Probe mit
polychromatischer Röntgenstrahlung bestrahlt und damit die
Elemente der Probe zur Fluoreszenzstrahlung angeregt. Mit
tels eines Kollimators wird eine nahezu parallelgerichtete
Strahlung ausgesondert und auf einen Analysatorkristall
gerichtet.
A sample is included in such X-ray spectrometers

the detector, which is always on the analyzer crystal

The present invention is based on the object
X-ray spectrometer to create, its adjustment easy
is and also with several collimators and analyzer batteries
stable is possible.
This object is achieved with the in claim 1
specified measures solved.
Using the drawing, in which an execution schematically
example of the new X-ray spectrometer is shown,
the invention with configurations and
Supplements described and explained in more detail.
Mit einer Röntgenröhre 1 wird durch ein Primärstrahlfilter
2 eine Probe 3 bestrahlt und damit zur Fluoreszenzstrah
lung angeregt.
Abstand geschichteten Blechen besteht. Die aus dem Kolli
mator 5 austretende, nahezu parallele Strahlung trifft
With an X-ray tube 1 , a sample 3 is irradiated through a primary beam filter 2 and thus stimulated to fluorescence radiation. The radiation emitted by the sample is laterally delimited by a collimator aperture 4 and reaches a collimator 5 , which consists of a large number of sheets which are layered at a distance. The emerging from the colli mator 5 , almost parallel radiation hits the surface of an analyzer crystal 8 at an angle R, on which it is reflected when the wavelength of the radiation and the optical lattice constant of the crystal meet the well-known Bragg equation. The reflected radiation is measured in a detector 11 which is connected to an adjustable detector collimator 17 .
Such X-ray spectrometer should be easily adapted to the respective measuring task and can be used over a wide wavelength range. The analyzer crystal 8 is therefore placed on a crystal changer 10 , the further analyzer crystals with different grid spacings, for. B. carries a crystal 9 , which can be brought into the measuring position by rotating the crystal change 10 . The collimator should accordingly be exchangeable according to the measuring task. A collimator with numerous sheets arranged closely next to each other causes the X-ray beam to be focused closely perpendicular to the sheet plane with a reduced intensity of the radiation emitted, while a collimator made from a few sheets with large spacings results in less focusing but a higher radiation intensity. In addition to the colli mator 5 are therefore other collimators, for. B. a colli mator 6 , and there are two other collimators in front, which are seated in a rotatable bracket about an axis 7 and each of which can be pivoted into the beam path.
20 bis 160°.The crystal changer 10 with the analyzer crystals sits on a plate 12 which, driven by a geared motor 13 , is rotatable about an axis 0 . A ring 14 , which carries the detector 11 and is driven by a motor 15 , can be rotated about the same axis 0 . The motors 13 , 15 , which are stepper motors, are controlled by a control unit 16 so that the R / 2R relationship is maintained. The crystal changer 10 is in an angular range of z. B. R = 10 ° to 80 ° rotatable. Accordingly, the range of rotation of the ring 14 with the detector 11 is 20 to 160 °.
tatsächliche Reflexionswinkel Rw ÿ bestimmt, wobei wieder i
stalls angibt. Anschließend wird der Detektorkollimator 17
auf einen schmalen Öffnungswinkel eingestellt und der
Detektor bei feststehendem Analysatorkristall in die
Stellung maximalen Signalpegels gebracht.
verwendete Kollimator-/Analysator-Kombination durchge
jeweilig tatsächliche Winkel des Kristallwechslers).A problem with such X-ray spectrometers is that the respective collimator in the beam path, the analyzer crystal and the detector must be directed exactly towards one another, since the wavelength R of the fluorescent radiation of the sample 3 and thus its component are determined via the angle R. Any angular errors can therefore falsify the analysis. The adjustment must be carried out for every collimator and every analyzer crystal. According to the invention adjustment is not made mechanically, but elec trically. To this end, the procedure can be such that the analyzer crystal and the detector are each brought into one end position, in the example R = 10 ° for the analyzer crystal and 2R = 20 ° for the detector. The sample consists of a known element, e.g. B. aluminum, the fluorescent radiation and thus the angles are known at which reflections occur and the detector 11 emits a signal. At such an angle, the analyzer crystal is set and at twice the angle of the detector, the detector colli mator 17 being opened wide. It should be noted, however, that due to mechanical inaccuracies that are difficult to avoid, the angles set in this way do not match the actual reflection angle. The Spectro meter can therefore initially only be set approximately to a certain line of fluorescent radiation. These target angles can be different for each collimator and each analyzer crystal or for each collimator / analyzer combination; they are referred to below as R s ÿ , where i indicates the number of the collimator and j the number of the analyzer crystal. Starting from the setpoint angle R s ÿ , the analyzer crystal is brought into the angular position when the detector is stationary, at which the detector 11 receives a maximum signal. This determines the actual angle of reflection R w ,, again i indicating the number of the collimator and j that of the analyzer crystal. The detector collimator 17 is then set to a narrow opening angle and the detector is brought into the position of maximum signal level when the analyzer crystal is stationary. The actual angle 2R is also found, which is referred to below as 2R w ÿ . The described finding of the angles R w ÿ and 2R w ÿ is carried out for each collimator / analyzer combination used in the operation of the spectrometer, and it may be necessary to use different samples. In the control unit 16 , a table of the target angles R s ÿ and 2R s ÿ with the associated actual angles R w ÿ and 2R w ÿ is formed and stored. A table of the differential angles ΔR ÿ = R w ÿ - R s ÿ and Δ2R ÿ = 2R s ÿ ge is also conveniently stored. The angles determined during the analysis of a sample with the collimator i and the analyzer crystal j are then corrected with the associated stored angle difference ΔR ÿ . This can be done in such a way that after changing the collimator and / or analyzer crystal, the crystal changer 10 and the detector 11 are adjusted to the winding pair R w ÿ , Δ2R w ÿ assigned to them or to an angle pair R w ÿ - R 0 R w ÿ - 2R 0 , where R 0 , 2R 0 are selected so that the analyzer crystal and the detector are approximately in one end position. For the analysis of the sample, the crystal changer 10 and the detector 11 are each rotated at a constant angular velocity, the detector being twice as large as that of the crystal changer. The signals occurring at the detector 11 are assigned angles R, which are corrected with the stored angle differences: R = 2R w - ΔR ÿ (R w is the respective actual angle of the crystal changer).
For the example described it was assumed that the
mechanical inaccuracies to an additive error
lead that is constant over the entire angular range.
It was therefore sufficient for each collimator / analyzer crystal comm
combination of a single measurement for error reporting.
If you also want to compensate for angle-dependent errors,
must determine two or
more measurements are made.
Das neue Spektrometer erfordert keine besonderen Justier
mittel für die Kollimatoren und die Analysatorkristalle.
Die Einstellung erfolgt elektronisch und kann selbsttätig
durchgeführt werden. The new spectrometer does not require any special adjustment
means for the collimators and analyzer crystals.
The setting is done electronically and can be done automatically
be performed.
