Description

Verfahren zur Beheizung eines Drehofens zwecks Herstellung von Schmelzen. Gegenstand vorliegender Erfindung betrifft ein besonderes Verfahren zum Beheizen von Drehöfen zwecks Herstellung von Schmelzen aller Art. Das Wesen der Erfindung soll darin bestehen, daß die Beheizung des Drehofens außer mit Kohlenstaub oder einem ähnlichen Brennstoff mit Hilfe des elektrischen Stromes erfolgt, wobei die Zuführungsdüse für das Brennmittel und die Elektroden von der Stirnseite der am Ende des Ofens angeordneten Schmelzzone eingeführt wird. Das Wesentliche dieses kombieierten Heizverfahrens ist darin zu erblicken, daß die Staubfeuerung in kontinuierlicher Weise das betreffende Material zum Schmelzen bringt. Daß jedoch dieses Material in dem Zustand der Schmelze erhalten bleibt, wird lediglich durch den elektrischen Strom bedingt, und zwar durch kurze entsprechende Stromstöße. Die Staubfeuerung und die elektrische Beheizung haben also zwei ganz verschiedene Aufgaben zu lösen. Von der Staubflamme wird auf die Schmelze selbst Wärme nicht abgegeben. Vielmehr wird mit Hilfe der Staubflamme lediglich eine Schmelze erzielt und mit Hilfe des ..lektrischen Stromes die Schmelze erhalten.
