Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the monitoring of a physical Size, for example a physiological size of the human body.
Dieses Verfahren umfaßt:It is already a procedure for monitoring blood sugar (Glycemia) for the use of insulin-dependent diabetes spa known. This procedure includes:
- - Phasen der Blutzuckererhebung, in deren jeder der Patient zur Messung und Speicherung des Blutzuckers ein elektroni sches Taschengerät verwendet, das unter der Bezeichnung GLUCOMETER M+ im Handel ist;- Phases of blood glucose monitoring, in which each of the patient an electroni for measuring and storing the blood sugar handheld device used under the name GLUCOMETER M + is on the market;
The aim of the invention is to monitor such a improve physical size.
For this purpose, a method for Monitoring of a physical quantity proposed consisting of:
- - Phasen der Erhebung eines Wertes dieser physikalischen Größe, in deren jeder ein Benutzer der ersten Ebene ein elektronisches Taschengerät zum Messen und Speichern dieses Werts verwendet;- Phases of collecting a value of this physical Size in which each a first level user handheld electronic device for measuring and storing used this value;
- - Phasen der Verwertung einer Folge von gespeicherten Werten, in denen eine Datenverarbeitungseinheit zur Visualisierung der Änderung des Werts der physikalischen Größe verwendet wird, gekennzeichnet durch Auswertungsphasen, die vom Benutzer der ersten Ebene mit Hilfe einer in seinem Besitz befindlichen Datenverarbeitungseinheit in Form eines Kompaktgehäuses durchgeführt werden, und durch Untersuchungsphasen, in denen der Benutzer der ersten Ebene mit einem Benutzer der zweiten Ebene zusammenkommt, unter Mitnahme seines Kompaktgeräts, in dem der Zugang zu wenigstens einer Operation dem Benutzer der zweiten Ebene vorbehalten ist.- phases of recovery of a sequence of stored Values in which a data processing unit for Visualization of the change in the value of the physical Size is used characterized by evaluation phases by the user of the first level with the help of one in his possession Data processing unit in the form of a compact housing be carried out, and through examination phases in which the user of the first level with a user of the second Level comes together, taking his compact device in which gives the user access to at least one operation the second level is reserved.
This enables more frequent execution of the evaluation phases, since these are directly from the user of the first level, for example the diabetes patient who his blood sugar is monitored, performed, taking at the same time the control function of the user of the second Level is preserved, both through retention meetings between users at the investigation phase as well as by the user of the second level reserved access to at least one operation.
In this way, the disadvantages of the known procedure avoided in which the evaluation phases due that they are run with an office computer must be in the possession of a doctor (user of the second Level) is to take place at too great intervals (in general three months) than the patient (user of the first Level) could gain real information, like him can keep his diabetes in balance, at the same time benefits of regular meetings between the patient and his doctor.
Preferred features of the method according to the invention are that the evaluation phases regularly after the survey phases be performed for a predetermined duration; the existence Compact housing used with an electronic memory whose capacity is several times larger than that of the memory of the pocket device; that one has the content of the electronic memory of the compact housing that he is the sequence of values that are in the pocket's memory devices in the survey period just ended was, at least following the sequence of values holds that precede in the memory of the handheld device in the the survey period has been saved; and that the visuali the change in the value of the physical quantity the basis of the content of the electronic memory of the Compact housing is made so that the visualization can be carried out over an analysis period, the multiple re survey periods, including in the case in which the analysis period a number of stored values which is several times larger than the number of Is values that can be stored in the pocket device.
The fact that in this way in the evaluation phases performed analysis over a longer period can stretch than the pocket device can store in visualization during an investigation phase the change in physical value during an analysis period that corresponds to the time that has expired since the last phase of the investigation (for example three months).
The invention further relates to a system for monitoring a physical quantity for performing the above be written procedure, comprising:
- - ein elektronisches Taschengerät zur Erhebung der von die ser physikalischen Größe nacheinander angenommenen Werte mit Mitteln zum Messen dieser physikalischen Größe und einem elektronischen Speicher zum Speichern einer Folge von von diesen Meßmitteln gemessenen Werten dieser physi kalischen Größe;- An electronic handheld device to collect the from the this physical quantity of successively assumed values with means for measuring this physical quantity and an electronic memory for storing a sequence from values of these physi calic size;
- - eine Datenverarbeitungseinheit zur Visualisierung der Änderung des Werts der physikalischen Größe mit Mitteln zum Anschluß an das Taschengerät, Mitteln zum Lesen der im elektronischen Speicher des Taschengeräts gespeicherten Da ten, Mitteln zur Analyse von Daten zur Bestimmung der Ände rung der physikalischen Größe und Mitteln zur Visualisie rung der auf diese Weise bestimmten Änderung der physika lischen Größe,- A data processing unit for visualizing the Change the value of the physical quantity by means for connection to the pocket device, means for reading the im Electronic memory of the handheld device stored Da means for analyzing data to determine the changes the physical size and means of visualization change of the physika determined in this way small size,
- dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Datenverarbeitungseinheit die Form eines Kompaktgehäuses hat, das einem das Taschen gerät verwendenden Benutzer der ersten Ebene zugeteilt werden soll und Mittel umfaßt, um einem Benutzer der zweiten Ebene den Zugang zu wenigstens einer Operation vorzubehal ten.characterized in that the data processing unit has the shape of a compact housing that is easy to pocket assigned to users using the first level should be included and means to a user of the second Level of access to at least one operation ten.
Preferred features of the system according to the invention exist in that the means to a second level user to reserve access to at least one operation, one Include chamber in which at least one control button and a lid for closing this chamber is provided, if the compact housing by the user of the first level is used.
These means are particularly simple, convenient and safe because through the lid any unforeseen access by the user the first level to the control button is prevented.
Another preferred feature is that the Compact housing is designed so that an operation, too the access reserved for the user of the second level is an operation of programming at least one Threshold is that used by the data analysis means be the change in the value of physical quantity determine.
This way, the doctor in the event that the over awakened physical size is the level of glucose in the blood set an upper threshold and / or a lower threshold len that correspond to the limits that he has for his patients holds normal, these thresholds being determined by the analysis be used for a visualization in which the exceeding of these thresholds is indicated.
The inventive method is particularly for Monitoring a physiological size of the human Body suitable because it is the mobility of the person to whom the Measurements must be made that the measurement and Pocket-sized storage device.
The inventive method and the inventive Systems are particularly suitable for monitoring the glu blood content in the case of a diabetic patient Monitoring blood pressure in case of hypertension pa patients or for monitoring the alcohol content in the breath in the case of an alcoholic patient.
Finally, the invention relates to the one described above Compact system belonging to the same system.

The exemplary embodiment shown is used for monitoring the blood sugar of an insulin-dependent diabetic patient.
Fig. 1 shows a time scale 1 on which with dots, the phase 2 of the elevation of a blood sugar value and with strokes evaluation phases 3 A, 3 B, 3 C, 3 D, and 3E are shown, wherein the phase 3 E corresponds to an investigation phase.
Fig. 2 und 3).The blood sugar collection phases 2 are each carried out by a diabetic patient who uses the electronic pocket device 4 (commercially available under the name GLUCOMETER M +) to measure and store the value of the blood sugar (see FIGS. 2 and 3).
To carry out this measurement, he stabs his finger on one side so that he receives a large drop of blood, which he applies to the reactive zone of a strip of the GLUCOFILM type (registered trademark). After four hundred seconds he wipes the reactive zone with a handkerchief, introduces the strip into the window of the reading chamber that he previously pushed to the right, and, if the strip is in this chamber, he pushes the reading chamber to the left . After counting down sixty seconds, which he triggered by pressing the key 6 of the keyboard 7 immediately after the drop of blood had been applied to the reactive strip, the display 8 of the pocket device shows the blood sugar value and this is automatically stored in the electronic memory 9 of the pocket device ( Fig. 2).
The memory 9 is part of an integrated circuit 10 , which further comprises a microprocessor part 11 with its working memory 12 and a program memory 13 , a battery 14 being provided to maintain the contents of the memory 9 . The integrated circuit 10 is connected via a bus 15 with the display 8 , with the keyboard 7 , with a sensor 16 for detecting the blood sugar from the reactive zone of the strip and with a serial interface 17 of the RS 232C type, which in turn is connected to a Socket 18 is connected.
The program stored in the memory 13 causes the countdown of 60 seconds to appear on the display 8 , the determination of the blood sugar value from the information provided by the sensor 16 after the countdown and the storage of this value in the memory 9 with the date and time provided by a clock provided in the integrated circuit 10 .
This program, and more generally the device 4 , also allows, with the aid of the keyboard 7 and the display 8 , information stored by the patient to be stored in the memory 9 , in particular the insulin dose which he has injected and its nature (fast, long sam, medium or mixed), meals (normal, light or extensive), exercising (normal, less intensive or more intense than usual), a hypoglycemic or other special event that may affect the value of blood sugar.
Each of these information is stored with the date and time specified by the clock who the so that each collection phase, the blood glucose measurement he supplementary data can be assigned, for example, in the first collection phase of day 20 ( Fig. 1) the blood Sugar before breakfast, which was normal, was measured with 10 injected units of fast insulin and 15 injected units of slow insulin.
Fig. 2 und 4 bis 6).If a survey period, 21 of a predetermined period (a week, for example) has elapsed, the patient (the phase, for example, 3 D) a visualization of the change results in an evaluation phase by in which it the blood glucose value using the compact housing 22 carries (see. Fig. 2 and 4 to 6).
The housing 22 has a chamber 23 for receiving the Ge device 4 with a plug 24 which protrudes at the point corresponding to the socket 18 of the device 4 , so that it is sufficient to connect the device 4 to the housing 22 , the device 4th to the bottom of the chamber 23 , as shown in Fig. 5.
From an electronic point of view, the housing 22 has an integrated circuit 25 of the 80C31 type with a microprocessor part 26 assigned to a working memory 27 , a program memory 28 and a data memory 29 , a battery 30 being provided in order to maintain the contents of the memory 29 .
