Dieser Dochtputzer besteht in einem unten geschlossenen Metallrohre, aus dessen Wandung zwei einander gegenüberstehende Flügel ausgeschnitten und nach auswärts stehend gebogen sind. Indem der Putzer mit dem verschlossenen Ende in das Brennerrohr eingeführt wird, kommen die beiden Flügel senkrecht auf den Rand desselben zu stehen, schaben bei Drehung des Putzers den verkohlten Dochttheil ab und führen denselben in das Metallrohr. Hierbei ist die Form der Putzflügel derartig eingerichtet, dafs ein glatt abgerundeter Dochtrand gleich so weit über der Dochthülse vorstehen bleibt, wie zur Erzeugung einer Normalflamme erforderlich ist, ohne dafs es einer Einstellung des Dochtes weder beim Anzünden noch nach demselben bedarf.This wick cleaner consists of a metal tube that is closed at the bottom and consists of its wall two opposite wings cut out and bent outwards standing are. Bei Drehung des Rohres E schaben die Flügel den vorstehenden Dochtrand ab und leiten die Theile in das Rohr, aus welchem sie dann entfernt werden, nachdem man den Putzer aus dem Dochtrohr oder dem Brenner herausgezogen hat. Um den Putzer für Brenner verwenden zu können, welche geringe Abweichungen im Durchmesser der Dochthülse haben, kann das Rohr E geschlitzt sein, wie Fig. 5 zeigt.
